What Happens When Your Account Is Deleted
When an account deletion request is finalized, the following automated actions take place immediately:
- Authentication Record Wiped: Your user profile, registered email address, password hash, and Firebase Authentication User ID (UID) are permanently purged from Google Firebase Authentication servers.
- Session Revocation: All active login tokens and authorization states across all your iOS and Android devices are terminated instantly.
- Pending / Cancelled Submissions Purged: Any unapproved congregation proposals, draft updates, or rejected submissions currently in the admin moderation staging queue tied to your account are permanently erased.
- Local Credentials Cleared: The local device token is deleted upon logout or subsequent app launch.
Irreversible Action Notice
Account deletion is permanent. Once completed, your contributor login cannot be restored. If you wish to submit congregation updates or schedule revisions in the future, you will need to register a new account.
Data Retention & Community Directory Records
Because this application functions as a shared offline-first public utility for travelers seeking worship schedules, specific retention policies apply to approved submissions:
| Data Element | Action Upon Account Deletion | Rationale |
|---|---|---|
| User Email & UID | Permanently Deleted | Personal identifiable information (PII) is removed completely from Firebase Authentication. |
| Pending Submissions | Permanently Deleted | Unverified drafts in the moderation queue are discarded immediately. |
| Approved Congregation Listings | Retained & Anonymized | Public reference data (chapel street address, schedule timings, district). Contributor UID is stripped so the listing is fully decoupled from your identity. |
| Approved Exterior Photos | Retained in Directory | Exterior chapel architecture reference photos remain visible to assist visitors in identifying venues. |
| Device SQLite Store | Retained Locally | You may continue using the offline directory as a guest reader without an account. |
If an approved congregation listing or exterior photograph contains unintended personal information or copyright infringements, you may request its removal by emailing our support team with the congregation name and district.
